Referral-led quiet spaces · Ayr & planned mobile respite

Quiet, safe space for people who need it most.

Cooldown and Get Away are dedicated to providing calm, quiet, private spaces to those who need them most. We have a town‑centre quiet space in Ayr today, with a referral‑only mobile respite resource in development for short emergency get-aways. We work with trusted partners to reach under‑served or specialist situations where immediate options, conventional holidays or busy environments are unsuitable or unavailable.

Who we support

Quiet, referral-led support for people who need calm the most

Our respite is designed for specialist referrals and under-served cases rather than general public holiday demand. We focus on low-stimulation spaces where safeguarding, trust, and calm access are built in from the start.

Suitability is considered carefully. We shape each stay with referrers and partner organisations so the environment, travel, and support are right for the person — respectful, discreet, and non-judgmental.

Referral-led access

How referrals work at Cooldown and Get Away

We keep access calm and considered. The programme is referral-led and intentionally not a drop-in public service, so we can prioritise safeguarding, suitability, and the people who need quiet respite most.

Who can refer

Charities, social-care organisations, community groups, and trusted partner agencies can discuss needs with us and work within agreed referral and safeguarding arrangements. We take time to understand each situation and keep decisions transparent and accountable.

A simple three-step flow

Clear and careful
  1. 1

    Initial conversation

We listen to the referrer, clarify goals, and share how the quiet space or respite support could help.

  2. 2

    Suitability & safeguarding review

Together we confirm needs, accessibility, and safeguarding considerations so the referral is safe and appropriate.

  3. 3

    Plan the quiet-space support

We arrange the Ayr quiet space or plan mobile respite support, coordinating timing and practical details with the referrer.

Why we keep it referral-led

Keeping access controlled helps us protect privacy, provide the right environment, and work hand-in-hand with safeguarding-aware professionals. It’s not about exclusion — it’s about care, focus, and trust.

Open to future partners

If you are a funder or organisation aligned with calm, nature-based respite and careful safeguarding, we welcome a conversation about future collaboration.

Safeguarding & governance

Trust-led delivery for people who need quiet most

Cooldown and Get Away is delivered in partnership by everwished, river & bean, and charIT. We work within safeguarding-aware referral frameworks, keeping access controlled and support discreet. Our approach prioritises people-first practice, steady growth, and accountable delivery.

As we expand from the Ayr town centre quiet space to a referral-only mobile respite resource, we will do so carefully and transparently. We may seek grant or funding support to extend capacity while protecting the calm, low-key nature of the service.
